When open an email box, error appeared on iPhone warning: Cannot verify Mail Server Identity. One solution for this problem is to delete that mail account on iPhone and add it back. However, after account deleted, I could not add it back with the following warning:

Mail Account already exists

Solution:

Logout iCloud on the iPhone

Add the deleted mail accounts

Tricks:

In previous version of iOS, when it showed that the system could not verify the mail server, it was easy to fix by accepting the certificate of the mail server. In my case, the certificate was expired, and I did not want to pay for SSL certificate renewal.

After deleting the mail account, actually it will not be listed on the account list. Thus, there is no clue why the error message was prompted.

After updating iOS from version to 11, there are some installed apps not ready for this version.

The worst is that I stored all important passwords in an app called Keyring, but after iOS update, I cannot get any of the stored password because of incompatibility of this app with this iOS ver.

After installation of Android Studio, the Android Virtual Device (AVD) Manager cannot be started unless the running virtual machine (irrelevant to Android Studio deployment) in VirtualBox is shut down.

Solution:

1. Instead of creating virtual device, deploy physical Android device, (actually I’ve tried this approach) e.g. Samsung old or obsolete model in case you don’t want to spend too much money.
2. Install Genymotion which is also rely on VirtualBox, thus there is no conflict between this emulator with the other existing emulator from VirtualBox.

Tricks:

The AVD manager of Android Studio could not start because there is conflict between Android Studio’s emulator module with VirtualBox.

Config:

• Host OS: OpenSUSE 13.2
• IDE: Android Studio 2.1
• VirtualBox: 5.0.18
• Genymotion: 2.6.0

Suddently found that the message input window was missing. Instead there’re only labels as Earlier and Later appearing at the bottom of screen, and you cannot find a way to input your message to send out.

Solution:

1. Drag to the top of the message history
2. Click “Info” at top right corner
3. Drag to bottom of the screen
4. Click “Send Message”

Config:

• iOS 7.1
• WhatsApp 2.11.8

Tricks:

WhatsApp is supposed to be a user-friendly app, but it’s frustrating that when you want to send out message immediately as a reply to a friend, you cannot find a way to input any message.

Without sync. ability on my linux desktop (Sony VAIO LX2) i need to sync. it with a notebook which is not belong to me though i can sometimes use it.

Solution:

1. Use jpilot and set File -> Preferences -> Settings -> serial port: net:any OR
2. run:

jpilot-sync -l >& net:any &

to hotsync w/o starting jpilot gui.

Tricks:

1. click Sync on jpilot before pressing sync on Palm
2. don’t use Gnome-pilot (gpilotd), it doesn’t work friendly with FC4. (should better ensure no gpilotd process is running)
3. (2006.4.11) after upgrade fc4 to fc5, can’t netsync (even using source code to compile again. also source code install can’t display chinese??? don’t know why. even installed xorg-X11-….) until open firewall for the palm. just add rule to accept all for the IP address of Palm.

Configuration:

• network: Level One WBR 3405TX
• OS: FC4, PalmOS 5; (2006.4.11) kernel:2.6.16-1.2080_FC5

Coments:

Interestingly, i could not successfully use USB to sync. with either jpilot and gnome-pilot.
